Follow these simple tips to enjoy a fast, frustration free call and get back to enjoying your life.

Tip 1: DATES N’ TIMES

Before you dial, select a couple different dates and times convenient for you, especially if you’re booking for a typically busy part of the week - like Friday and Saturday.

The call will fly right by if you can decide your availability ahead of time. The Makeup Bar recommends re-booking at checkout, whenever possible.

Tip 2: THIS OR THAT?

Be ready to book the correct service. If you’re unsure if you get a single process or a highlight, ask your hairdresser how to book to ensure your next appointment is booked for the right amount of time.

(Hint: A single progress color is when a hairdresser covers your greys OR puts only one color on your hair. For highlights or lowlights a hairdresser will use foils to create lighter and/or darker colored streaks to contrast with your base color. Sometimes you need to book both a single process AND a high/lowlight to achieve the look you want. Like we mentioned – just ask your hairdresser and they’ll advise you how to book your appointment.

More of a tech-savvy person? Leave your email with our front desk receptionist and we’ll be sure to email you your appointment confirmation.

No email? No problem…we’ll still call you the night before your appointment to remind you of your visit. If you don’t want or need any reminders, just tell our front desk receptionist, and we’ll remove you from our confirmation list.

How far to hold a blow dryer from hair?

Human hair can be fragile and easily damaged from the harshness of high heat. A good rule of thumb is to aim the hair dryer at the skin of your arm or your hand. When the hot air is a comfortable distance away and isn’t too hot against your skin, that’s a good length to hold the drier away from your hair, too.
